At the end of the process, the remaining water contains only basic organic building blocks, including amino acids, salts, and sugars. This provides reassurance that nothing harmful is left behind or released into the air or water. These biodegradable compounds are safely treated through local municipal sanitation systems, following the same regulated processes used for water from homes, hospitals, and businesses.
The result is familiar and meaningful for families. Final ash remains are composed of natural mineral calcium phosphate, with the volume of ashes typically 20–30% greater than that of flame cremation because of the gentler nature of this process.
